Action: Closes Chinook salmon retention.
Effective dates: Aug. 15–Sept. 30, 2026.
Species affected: Chinook salmon.
Location: Marine Area 11, except year-round piers (Des Moines Pier, Les Davis Pier, Point Defiance Boathouse Dock, and Redondo Pier).
Salmon rules: No minimum size. Daily limit two. Release chum and Chinook.
Reason for action: Current estimates indicate the sublegal Chinook encounter guideline will be reached by Friday, Aug. 14. This rule change is necessary to adhere to sublegal Chinook encounter guidelines agreed to during the 2026 North of Falcon season setting process.
