"I Been Fishin' Longer Than You" Report

May 19, 2026
Alright, you city slickers, Grandpa Sasquatch's here to tell ya 'bout the Everett fishin'. Don't expect rainbows and sunshine, just the truth. Day 1-3: Humid. Fish are probably sulking. Waste of time.
Day 4-5: Little bit of rain. Maybe the salmon will finally remember they're supposed to be here. Maybe.
Day 6-7: Sun's out. Everybody and their grandma's gonna be crowding the docks. Go home, read a book.
Day 8-10: Cloudy. Perfect for napping. Also, maybe some trout. Don't get your hopes up.
Day 11-12: Wind's a-howlin'. Stay inside and complain. Even fish got more sense than to be out in that.
Day 13-14: Back to sunny. See days 6-7. Seriously, just go home. Unless you like tangled lines and sunburns. You've been warned. Now get off my lawn...or dock!

Everett Fishing Forecast & Tide Charts

History of the Place: Everett's waterfront was built on lumber and salmon. The Snohomish River delta provided a natural shelter for early settlers and the local Tulalip Tribes. The Port of Everett today hosts one of the largest public marinas in the Pacific Northwest, continuing a legacy of maritime commerce that began in the late 1800s.

List of Fishing Areas:

  • Possession Bar: A massive underwater plateau.

  • The Shipwreck: A classic trolling lane for resident salmon.

  • Snohomish River Mouth: Combat fishing capital for fall Coho.

  • Hat Island: A waypoint for migrating Chinook.

Type of Fish: Coho, Chinook, Chum, and Dungeness Crab.

Season Fishing Forecast:

  • Winter: Blackmouth season on the bar.

  • Spring: Crabbing season usually opens in early summer.

  • Summer: Early Chinook and the famous “Resident Coho” bite.

  • Fall: The Snohomish River comes alive with hatchery Silvers.

Gear & Strategy: “Bucktailing” flies on the surface is an Everett tradition for Coho. For river fishing, twitching jigs in the deep holes is the local secret. Check the Everett tide charts to find slack water windows.

Grandpa's Cold Hard Truth: You Juniors love your “high tech” gadgets. I remember when we used cedar branches and luck. If you don’t respect the Snohomish delta, the tide will strand your shiny truck in the mud. Consult the Grandpa Master Reportbefore you leave the driveway.
