Action: Opens trout and game fish seasons.
Effective dates: Immediately through Oct. 31, 2026.
Species affected: Trout and other game fish.
Location: Willapa River, from the mouth (city of South Bend boat launch) to the WDFW access site at the mouth of Ward and Wilson creeks.
Rules:
- Trout: Statewide minimum size/daily limit, except cutthroat and wild rainbow trout minimum size 14 inches.
- Other game fish: Statewide minimum size daily limit.
Reason for action: Coastal steelhead and game fish rules adopted in January of 2026 made changes to the opening date for trout and other game fish seasons in this section of Willapa River. These changes are reflected in the 2026-2027 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.
