Daily limits removed from Fish Lake ahead of rehabilitation

Action: Opens fishing with no size restrictions or daily limit for all species.

Species affected: All species

Location: Fish Lake (Spokane County)

Effective dates: Immediately through Oct. 17, 2026.

Rules:

  • Open for fishing with no size restriction or daily limit for all species.
  • Fishing from a vessel equipped with an internal combustion engine is prohibited.

Reason for action: Fish Lake is scheduled to be treated with rotenone, a naturally occurring piscide commonly used to remove undesirable and illegally stocked fish species from lakes and streams. For additional information, see WDFW's Pre-treatment plan for Fish Lake (PDF).

Additional information: Fish Lake is closed beginning Oct. 18.
