Action: Closes game fish angling in Stevens Creek.
Effective date: Sept. 1–30, 2026.
Species affected: Game fish
Locations: Stevens Creek in Grays Harbor County from the mouth to the U.S. Highway 101 Bridge.
Rules: Closed to fishing.
Reason for actions: Humptulips Salmon Hatchery broodstock goals have not been met in three of the last four years, and the pre-season hatchery return forecast is less than half of the recent average. Chinook stage in Stevens Creek before entering the hatchery. Current low flows are hindering their ability to access the hatchery intake, leaving them vulnerable to fishing pressure. This closure is necessary to improve chances of meeting hatchery broodstock goals by reducing impacts on Chinook staging to enter the hatchery.
Additional information: Fishing in this section is closed October through November, as listed in the 2026–2027 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.
